Daniel 9, 70 Weeks of Daniel

Daniel 9 is probably one of the most talked about, yet least read chapters of the Hebrew Scriptures.  Many refer to it, because of Yeshua’s statement in Matthew 24:15.

15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

For the verse above and many other reasons, Daniel 9 is a chapter that all New Testament Believers should have a thorough understanding.  Another reason being, it provides the timing for the first coming of Messiah.  It is the purpose of this page and the subsequent pages to help the reader have a clear understanding of Daniel 9.  What may surprise many if they are willing to read and study with an open mind, Daniel 9 prophesies events that are not commonly addressed, yet can be easily understood.

One might be tempted to jump right to the 70 Weeks; however, it is recommended to start at the beginning.  Although, Daniel 9:1 through 9:23 may seem unimportant, they are essential to laying the ground work and context for the prophesy of the 70 weeks.  Without the context of Daniel’s prayer, one could possibly misinterpret the resultant answer from God.  That is why it is important to start at the beginning and slow progress through the pages.
