Judgment Seat

There is a day coming when all believers will be judged, 1 Peter 4:17.

17 For the time is come that judgment (krima) must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Peter tells us that judgment starts with the believers.  Unfortunately, so many are focused on nonbelievers, when they should be more concerned about themselves.  For believers, judgment occurs at the Judgment Seat of Messiah, 2 Corinthians 5:9-10.

9Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.  10For we must all appear before the judgment seat (bema) of Messiah; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Believers will be judged in the future as to what they did in this lifetime.  Whether it was good or bad, whether it was acceptable or not, 1 Corinthians 3:11-15.

11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Yeshua Messiah. 12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  14If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The vessel of gold and silver, it was for honor.  The vessel of wood and earth, it brought dishonor.  If one’s works are burnt up, they will suffer loss.  They will still be saved by fire.  However, when this time comes, many will have wished they did otherwise in this lifetime.

There is a difference among believers, 2 Timothy 2:11-12A

11It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12AIf we suffer, we shall also reign with him:

Only those that suffer in this life time will reign with Messiah.  The others will serve in the Great Multitude.  Remember it is not called great because it is great.  It is because this is where most believers will end up.  It is your choice where you will end up.  It is your choice to do the will of the Father.  If you do not know the will of the Father, it is time to find out quickly, because time is marching on without you.
