Limited Free Will (Eternal Security)

Now with all that has been written, there are still those who will state that they have free will and can walk away from God.  God has something to say about that, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

It very clearly states that believers are not their own.  If a believer is not their own, whose are they?

And it states they are bought with a price.  If, one is bought, then what are they?

Lets look at the ministry of Yeshua, Isaiah 61:1.

1The Spirit of the Lord Yehovah is upon me; because Yehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

The prison gates were open.  Who brings one out of Prison?

 Isaiah 42:6-7

6I Yehovah have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

The Lord, God brings the believer out of the prison.  The believer is His.

1 Corinthians 7:22-23

22For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Messiah’s servant.  23Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

If one is not a servant of men, whose servant are they?

Colossians 3:24

24Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Messiah.

Believers serve the Lord.  They are His servant.  In Colossians 3:24, serve is the Greek word douleuo {dool-yoo’-o}(G1398).  It means to be a slave, to be in bondage, to yield obedience.  If one is a slave unto the Lord, how do they become free of Him?  Where would they go to escape Him?  Does not the good master protect his slave?

Luke 15:4-5

4What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

What a believer has and all human beings is limited free will.  One cannot just wander off as they suppose.  Believers were bought with a price, they are not their own.
