Messiah Begins His Ministry

Nothing about Yeshua was arbitrary, and Yeshua did not begin His ministry at an arbitrary time.  To determine when Yeshua began His ministry, we can start by looking at when he ended His ministry.  Daniel 9 provides when His ministry ended.

Daniel 9:27

27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Daniel 9:27 says “in the midst of the week”.  A week split in the middle would be 3-½ years.  Yeshua’s ministry of 3-½ years was a fulfillment of this prophecy.

To determine when Yeshua’s ministry began one can work backward from when Yeshua’s ministry ended.  His ministry ended on Passover when He went to the cross, which was the 14th of Nissan.  Refer to Leviticus 23:5-6:

5In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is Yehovah’s passover. 6And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto Yehovah;  seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

Now one does not know the year; however, 3-1/2 years prior to Passover would be the 15th day of the seventh month.  Refer to Leviticus 23:34:

34Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Yehovah,

This is the 1st day of Sukkoth, on 15th of Tishri.  Luke tells us in Luke 3:21-23:

21Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Yeshua also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22And the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. 23And Yeshua himself began to be about thirty years of age,

This is when Yeshua began his Ministry.  30 years of age is a fulfillment of Numbers 4:3.

3From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

Like all Jewish Priests, Yeshua started his ministry at the age of 30.  It makes Biblical sense that Yeshua would start the day He turned 30 years of age.  Yeshua would not start early that would be a sin.  To start late would contradict why Yeshua even existed.

Yeshua  began on the day He turned 30, the 15th of Tishri, the 1st day of Sukkoth.
