Wading in the Water

It is one thing to understand the Parable of the Sower, it is another thing to apply the parable.  Thankfully so, God has give us another lesson that helps to apply this parable.

Ezekiel 47 is a prophecy of the future.  Ezekiel is brought to the threshold of the house of God and sees waters flowing out, Ezekiel 47:1-2.

1Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. 2Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.

Ezekiel sees the water coming from the house, Ezekiel 47:3.

3And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.

The man that Ezekiel is with takes him out a 1000 cubits.  Ezekiel is ankle deep in the water, Ezekiel 47:4.

4Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.

The man measure again and takes Ezekiel out further, it is up to his knees.  Then the man does it again and now Ezekiel is up to his loins in the water, Ezekiel 47:5.

5Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.

They go out even further, the water is so high Ezekiel is swimming in the water, Ezekiel 47:6.

6And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river.

God asked Ezekiel a question and it is a question for us as well.  Did you understand the meaning of this?  This is more than the physical restoration of the temple, Ezekiel 47:7.

7Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.

The same is in Revelation 22:1-2.

1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

This has application for today as well as the end of time.  We need to learn how to slowly bring people into an understanding.  When it is up to their ankles do not push them in, it takes time.  Let them get used to the water.  Let them start to feel comfortable, then they will go a little deeper.  Before you know it, they will be swimming in it.  Do not badger people allow them to enjoy what the Holy Spirit is doing.  It is a slow process.  We need to learn to employ all the fruit of the Spirit, let God lead us.

We do not lead anyone to Messiah.  We are just stepping stones to Messiah.  Our prayer should be that our witness, as a new covenant witness, is in love, patience and with all longsuffering worthy of Yeshua.
