According to His Purpose

When one understands this subject, then they will come to love Romans 8:28.

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Not that all things are good, but all things work together for the good for those called according to His purpose.  Sickness can be for the glory of God.  God’s healing can be for the glory of God.  Poverty can be for the glory of God.  Wealth can be for the glory of God.  Paul declared in Philippians 4:11-13:

11Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13I can do all things through Messiah which strengtheneth me.

Paul was living in a different state than many people.  Paul was content, because Paul was in New Jerusalem.

When we will come to appreciate that all things are for the good.  Then we will appreciate that our 70 or 80 years are a just a blink of the eye in eternity.  We will come to appreciate that our time now is nothing compared to eternity.

 Romans 8:18

18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Yes God permitted evil for our sake and benefit, because God loved us best.  In the future, no one will ever choose evil again.  Because all will understand, we will not repeat history again, as so many do today.
