The Phrase the Lake of Fire

The phrase the Lake of Fire is in the Bible five times.  All five times are in the Book of Revelations, Revelation 19:20

20And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

This is at the beginning of the millennium.  Only the beast and the false prophet are thrown into the Lake of Fire.

Revelation 20:10

10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

This is towards the end of the millennium.  The devil is thrown into the lake of fire.  Only the devil, the beast and the false prophet are tormented.

Revelation 20:14

14And death and hell (hades) were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

This time no one is thrown into the Lake of Fire, death and hell are thrown into the Lake of Fire.  Additionally, the reader is told that being cast into the Lake of Fire is second death.

Revelation 20:15

15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Now, who ever is not found in the Book of Life is cast into the Lake of Fire.

Finally in Revelation 21:8

8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

All these bad people are thrown into the Lake of Fire.

These are the only places that the phrase the Lake of Fire is in the Bible.  However, it is inferred in many other places in the Bible.
