Romans 6:23 Give Back a Gift

Some believe that salvation is a gift that can be given back. Why not?  In the world if someone buys you a gift, with a receipt, it can be returned.  That may work for the world; however, God’s kingdom is far different from the world.

Paul writes in Romans 6:23:

23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Yeshua Messiah our Lord.

Salvation is a gift that one freely receives.

Some declare that salvation is a gift that can be lost if one misuse it.  Again, this is a situation where there is no supporting scripture.

Paul writes in Romans 11:29:

29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

God does not change His mind.  Once He gives a gift, it never come back to Him.  No matter how much one may try, it is theirs forever.

Further in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20:

19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Once an individual becomes a believer, they are no longer their own.  They are His because He has paid the full price.  It is not a choice one can make.  They cannot just get up and leave.

As for the sheep that think they can go astray, Luke 15:4-5:

4What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

Yeshua will goes after the believer until He finds them.  If He does not, how could Yeshua be our savior?

He did no sin.  The Bible states that He is perfect in every way.  The Bible calls Him the good shepherd.  To propose to say that it is not true, is to state that Yeshua is not perfect and He lied.

If Yeshua fails to be the good shepherd, Yeshua has sinned and then He could have never been our savior.  That may be what the world declares, but the Bible states otherwise.

Once saved, it is not up to individual to maintain salvation.  It is up to God.  He said that he would never leave nor forsake us.  The believer is secure in God.
