Hierarchy in the Millennium

The Resurrection of the Just and the Unjust does not pertain to New Testament believers.  It does, however, have reference to Old Testament saints that will be resurrected during the millennium.  The Church, or new covenant believers, are part of the First Resurrection.  New Testament believers are to be priests of God in Messiah and rule with Him for 1000 years, Revelation 1:6.

6And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.

This is never said of an Old Testament believer.  But Yeshua does declare in Mathew 11:11:

11Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Scriptures clearly differentiate between these two groups of people, New Testament saints and Old Testament saints.  It even differentiates the two resurrections, Hebrews 11:35.

35Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

Old Testament saints were looking forward to the Better Resurrection.  For New Testament believer, Hebrews 11:39-40:

39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

For New Testament believers, there is something even better, the First Resurrection.

With all these different resurrections and individuals, the question is what is the relationship of one to another and the Messiah?  Yeshua stated in Matthew 22:41-45:

41While the Pharisees were gathered together, Yeshua asked them, 42Saying, What think ye of Messiah? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. 43He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, 44The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? 45If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

If Yeshua, Messiah is a descendant of David, how is it that David calls Messiah Lord?  This is explained in the Psalm 45.  Psalm 45:6 discusses Israel and the future kingdom.

6Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Not only does it speak of Israel’s God and King, Psalm 45 also discusses New Testament Saints, Psalm 45:9.

9Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

Decked in gold is the highest reward of the New Testament saints.  These are the ones who ran the race with patience.  There is even reference to believers that chose not to walk with Messiah in the fullness of the word, Psalm 45:14.

14She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

After the Judgment Seat of Messiah, the virgins, born again believers, the companions, are not part of the bride of Messiah.

Psalm 45:16 refers to Old Testament Saints.  This is the same thing that Yeshua asked of the Pharisees in Matthew 22.

16Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

So, how can it be that instead of thy fathers shall be thy children?  The answer is quite simple.  King David was the forefather of Messiah in creation, but in the resurrection King David becomes the son of Messiah.  King David falls into the group that was before John the Baptist.  Old Testament saints are not to be kings and priests in the first resurrection.  They are to be princes in the earth.  This why Yeshua stated that the least in the kingdom is greater than all in the Old Testament.  Simply, this is because of the new creation, New Birth.
