Light for Growth
Where does the light come from for the mustard seed to grow? Psalm 43:3
3O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
His truth is the light. This leads us to the tabernacle. This is were God resides, in the tabernacle.
The truth, Yeshua tells us in John 17:17.
17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Word is the Greek word logos {log’-os} (G3056). Truth is from the written word, the Bible. This includes all 66 books, from Genesis to Revelation. There are no short cuts. Anything less will stunt the growth of the believer.
Yeshua was making the same point with the woman at the well, John 4:23-24.
23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
What this means to the believer is that there are two components. There is the Spirit, the supernatural power of God. Then there is the truth, the words of the Bible. These two components are intimately intertwined. They cannot be separated from each other. Both are needed to come into the proper worship of God. Both are essential for great faith and growth in the Kingdom.
