Nutrients for Growth

To grow one also needs nutrients or the fertilizer.  This can easily be obtained, but it may be the hardest part.  It comes from dead stuff.  It means that an individual has to get rid of the dead stuff in their lives, 2 Corinthians 5:17.

17 Therefore if any man be in Yeshua, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

One must be willing to let the old nature die.  One must not continue to feed the carnal nature.  This is the difficulty many have.  They become a believer, but do not change their lifestyle.  If one will not let go of the old life, growth will not occur, Romans 6:5-6.

5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7For he that is dead is freed from sin.

The believer has to let the old man die.  The old man dies when one does not serve sin.  If one serves sin, there will be no nutrients for growth.  Neither is God going to give you any.  One must pursue holiness, righteousness.

Simply if one wants to grow and mature in the kingdom and have great faith, there are things they must do and it must be a continuous lifestyle.  First, God’s Holy spirit should continuously be speaking in our lives.  We should be quick to act on those words.  Secondly, one needs to be consistently in the word.  They must be mediating upon the word continually.  Finally, one needs to be continually turning from sin.  They need to be in a state of continuous repentance.
