Conclusion

The parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus has a significant message to the believer.  Unfortunately, because many have tried to understand this passage in a literal manner; they have missed the real significance of the message.

This parable speaks of the covetousness of the religious class and the unjust treatment of others.  It is a warning to us to not repeat the same.  We are to feed the flock and have compassion.  We are not to look for justification in the eyes of man.  We should look for our justification through God.

The continuity of the law and prophets.  They lead us to Yeshua and the kingdom message.

It is the transition of authority from the Pharisees to the Believer.  The church now sits in Moses’ seat.

And most importantly not to compromise the Gospel Message of salvation by grace and only grace.  God’s message of salvation cannot be changed by majority vote.

Ephesians 2:8-9

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
