Thorny Ground People
Matthew 13:7
7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
Mark tells us in Mark 4:7
7And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
Before the seed could produce any fruit, the word was choked. The word never had a chance to grow in their heart. Concerning their heart Matthew 13:22:
22He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
These people have so many cares of this life, they are deceived by riches and lust. They will barely listen. What should one do? Jeremiah 4:3B
3Band sow not among thorns.
This is a command. One is not to give seed to these people. As far as thorny ground people are concerned, we are told in Hebrews 6:8:
8But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
If one is thinking that, I am telling you not to sow among these people? You are right! Both Jeremiah and Yeshua taught the same way. So what is one to do? God has an answer, Isaiah 10:16-17.
16Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire. 17And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
God has got to burn up the thorns. We cannot do it. However, we still have a work to do. We have to get among these people and just shut our mouths. We are to be an example. Let your witness shine, let God burn up the thorns and patiently minister to the ones that God sends you. Follow the Holy Spirit.
