Days of the Week

In the previous study, the use of the word day in the Hebrew was investigated.  Day comes from the Hebrew word YOWM {yome} (H3117).  Although, 2008 of its 2274 times in the Bible, YOWM {yome} (H3117) is translated day; it is not specifically a 24 hour day.  It is also translated: time, chronicles, daily, ever, year, continually, when, as, while, full, always, whole, always and 44 other miscellaneous words.  YOWM {yome} (H3117) actually refers to an epoch of time.  The appropriate meaning can be determined from the context of the sentence.

2 Peter 3:8

8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

If this is applied to the seven days of Sukkoth, remembering when a biblical day starts,

Genesis 1:31.

31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Biblical days start at sunset or twilight, then:

(Refer to Chronology, Sukkoth, Days of the Week for illustration of the days described below.)

Adam lived in the first day of mankind.  This would be the 1st, 1000 years or the 1st day.  This would have ended just before Sunday around twilight.

Abram answered the call in Genesis 12, 2000 years from the beginning of Adam.  This would be the 3rd day, Monday around twilight.

David and Solomon would have reigned about 3000 years from the beginning of Adam.  This would be the beginning of the 4th day, Tuesday around twilight.

Yeshua went to the Cross 4000 years from the beginning of Adam.  This would be the end of the 4th day, Wednesday around twilight.

Today is 2000 years from Messiah or 6000 years from the beginning of Adam.  This would be the end of the 6th day, Friday around twilight.

We are we about to enter into the Millennium.  This would be the 7th, 1000 year period since the beginning of Adam.  Therefore, we are entering the Sabbath.

Let’s go one step further.  Instead of counting a 1000 years as a day, each 1000 Year period represents 1 Year.  Remember, the law is a shadow of good things to come.  Could the Sabbatical Year be a shadow of future things to come?  Then what we would have is:

Adam lived during the 1st Year.

Abraham answered the call in Genesis 12, during the 3rd Year.

Solomon’s reign was during the  4th Year.

Yeshua went to the Cross at the end of the 4th Year.

We are about to finish the 6th Year.

Therefore, the Millennium would be the 7th year or the Sabbatical Year.

Remember what happens in the Sabbatical Year, there is the forgiveness of debts and freedom from slavery.  Forgiveness of debts is representative of forgiveness of sins. Freedom from slavery is freedom from the bondage of the devil.  For us, who are believers today, it is the complete deliverance from the carnal nature.

This study will further investigate time from God’s perspective to determine the shadow of the Jubilee and Shavous.
