Secrets that Belong to God

When reading the Bible, one must understand that there are limitations within the text.  God stated in Deuteronomy 29:29:

29The secret things belong unto Yehovah our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

There are things that one cannot know.  These are secrets or mysteries God has decided not to reveal in this lifetime.  For instance in the Book of Job, neither the time frame of the events of Job’s life nor the exact location is known.  It is unknown how old Job was when the events started to occur, nor how long it was before his friends arrived.  It is not clear if the conversations were over several days, weeks or even years.  It is not known if his wife left him.  There are many things that are indeterminate.

So it is important to be careful not to make assumptions based on one’s personal belief system.  It is therefore important to stay within the written word of the Bible and accept that some questions are purposely not answered.
