The Power of God (Eternal Security)

We are secure in salvation, because of the power of God.  Peter wrote in 1 Peter 1:3-5:

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua Messiah, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Yeshua Messiah from the dead,  4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,  5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Peter writes that He, God, has begotten us.  This means that one who is born again, their salvation is a lively hope.  The hope that a believer has is not wishful thinking.  It is a living hope.

It is incorruptible.  This means that it is undecaying in essence or continuance, not corruptible, immortal.  It is through faith we have salvation, and it is by the power of God that keeps that salvation.  It is not depended upon our power, because our power would fail.  His, God’s power never fails, it is secure.  This is why salvation is incorruptible.

God, by His power, has a reservation held in trust for each and every believer.

Paul writes in Romans 1:16:

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Messiah: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Again it is the power of GodIt is not our power.  It is God’s power.  God’s Power is the only power That has any assurance.

Peter and Paul clearly state that salvation is secure, because of the power of God.
