With All His Saints

Matthew 25:31:

31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

This is the second coming of Messiah.  However, does Yeshua actually come back with Angels?

Zechariah 14:5

5And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and Yehovah my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

In Zechariah, Yeshua comes back with the saints, Revelation 19:14.

14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

The armies in heaven that are clothed in fine linen is a reference to what was written earlier in Revelation 19:7-8.

7Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

The saints are in the fine linen.  Once again, scriptures tells the reader that it is the saints that will return with Yeshua.

So why does it state angles in Matthew 25:31?

Angels come from the Greek word aggelos {ang’-el-os} G0032.  Of its 186 uses in the New Testament, it is translated angel 179 times and messenger 7 times.  Its use parallels that of the Hebrew word for angels.  In the Hebrew text, angel is the Hebrew word mal’ak {mal-awk’} (H4397).  Of its 214 uses in the Bible, it is translated angel 111 times, messenger 98 times, ambassadors 4 times and a variant 1 time.  If one were to contextually study the angels of the Bible, it would become clear that sometimes the translation for aggelos {ang’-el-os} G0032 and mal’ak {mal-awk’} (H4397) is indiscriminate.  Many times these words are translated angels, when they should have been translated messengers of God.  Believers are messengers of God.

Further, Yeshua states in Matthew 22:30.

30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Saints are compared to angels.  When Yeshua returns, He is bringing His saints, believers, with Him, 1 Thessalonians 3:13.

13To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Yeshua Messiah with all his saints.

Besides it is believers who will be judging during the millennium, 1 Corinthians 6:2.

2Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Believers will be doing the judging in the Millennium.  When Yeshua returns, it will be with His saints, believers.
