Baptism of The Holy Spirit (TV)

Matthew 25:3-4

3They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Here is the difference between the wise and the foolish virgins.  The foolish virgins had no oil in their vessels.  Whereas, the wise had oil in their vessels.

This is a picture of one’s spiritual maturity.  The oil determines how long a light will burn and how bright is the light.  Ultimately what this means is, the foolish had salvation, but little to none of the spirit in their lives, 1 Samuel 16:13.

13Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of Yehovah came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

The oil is the Holy Spirit that comes upon the believer in power.  It refers to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Joel 2:28-29.

28And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

This is what happened in Acts 2.  It was the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  We all need this, Acts 1:8.

8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

One cannot be a witness with power, if they do not have the Holy Spirit and lots of it.  It was Yeshua that told the apostle they need this to be a witness.  Without it, the believer is just kidding themselves.  If one does not have this baptism, they are going out on their own power.  That is dead works, believer is to be purged of that.

Unfortunately, too many have been hoodwinked into thinking that the Baptism of the Holy spirit is not for today in all its facets.  Peter told all believers in Acts 2:38-39.

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yeshua Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The promise of the Holy Sprit, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is power that is available to all the Lord shall call.  Peter never limited it to the First Century.  Why do so many today?

Never limit the amount of the spirit in your life.  A believer should always strive to reach for more, 1 Corinthians 2:4-5.

4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

The power of the Holy Spirit moving though us is the witness, God wants to come forth in all believers.
