Purge Ourselves

Matthew 25:2

²And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Five of the virgins are wise and five are foolish.  Yeshua is dividing believers into types.  This is referring to different levels of spiritual maturity.  Too often, believers are told that in the end all be the same.  According to Yeshua there is a difference, 2 Timothy 2:19-20.

¹⁹Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Messiah depart from iniquity.  ²⁰But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

In the house of God, there are those that bring honor and those that bring dishonor.  Do not be deceived into believing that all believers will be the same.  If you do, you will be short changing yourself in this lifetime and the one to come.  It should always be a believer’s aspiration to bring honor to the name of God.  However, it will require perseverance, 2 Timothy 2:21.

²¹If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

One must purge themselves of their former life and sanctify themselves to the ways of God.  Then, they will be prepared for the master’s employment.  That way, they can bring honor to God, Hebrews 9:14.

¹⁴How much more shall the blood of Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

We are to be purged of our dead works.  We are not to follow what we think is right.  Neither should one follow traditions, just because they learned them from their parents.  A believer is to be purged of everything that is not of God.

Purging is a process that that takes time.  Any tradition of man that is counter to God’s word is to be put down.  Believers are to answer the shofar call of today, Revelation 18:4.

⁴And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

We are to come out of Spiritual Babylon to serve the living God.
