Keeping Ourselves Ready

An important question is, why did the wise virgins have oil in their vessels and the foolish had none.  Obviously, the wise virgins did something different.  This ought to be an obvious difference.  The wise lived a different lifestyle than the foolish.

If the oil is the spirit, then to get more spirit one needs to spend more time with God in the spirit.  To have oil, one needs to commune and follow the lead of the Holy Spirit.  It is a progressive thing, one must walk with God in the Spirit, Matthew 25:5.

5While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

Just because Yeshua has not come back as fast as a believer would like, one does not fall asleep in life.  One is to never lose hope.  Nor are they to listen to the world.  There was a warning in Matthew 24:44-51.

44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

We are to be giving meat in due season.  We need to make His return our priority, Matthew 24:44-51.

48But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The question is, when Yeshua returns will you be found wanting or will you be the good and faithful servant.  Is His kingdom your only priority?

A believer should always be striving for the deeper life in Messiah.  A believer must live their  life as if Messiah’s return is eminent.  While, living their life growing more spiritually mature  each day.
