Staying in the Love of God

Galatians 6:9.

9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Why do so many weary even when they seem to be doing the right things?  It is because they let the world get the better of them and they lose what little faith they have.

All believers receive a measure of faith, Romans 12:3.

3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

The believer is to increase that measure of faith every day.  To do that, one must learn the lesson of Jude 20.

20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

A believer is learn to access God all the time.  This is the failure of many believers.  Unfortunately, when many believers, who have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, are faced with a problem they do not pray in the Spirit.  Most only pray in the spirit when they are at church or just a few times a week.  No wonder so many weary in well doing.  The believer needs to pray in the spirit, day in and day out.

Further in Jude 21.

21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Yeshua Messiah unto eternal life.

Believers fail to keep themselves in the love of God.  This is because, many believers do not know God.  As such, they do not truly know of His love in a constant and perpetual way.  The best way to start to know God is to know His book, the Bible.  It is the one book that reveals God’s nature.  It is where, we one can start learn of His love.  This will lead to experiencing it in a real way.

Yet the Bible has always been the least read and studied book in Christianity.   Unfortunately, this leads to a shallow and emotional understanding of love.  Love is much deeper than many of us realize.  It is much more demanding than many of us are willing to give.

John helps us to understand what is the love of God.  God’s definition for love is found in 2 John 6.

6And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Love is when we walk after God’s commandments.  This is counter to what so many have been taught.  It explains why so many lack love in their lives.  Too many believe that Christianity freed us from the law.  That is not what Yeshua came for.  Yeshua came to free us from the penalty of the law, so that we could walk in the spirit of the law, Romans 8:4.

4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

That is why we need to read the word and purge ourselves of doctrines of men.  We need to learn the word.  We need to quit studying men’s traditions and get out of spiritual confusion.

So love is that we walk after God’s commandments.  It is not just any commandments.  It as we have heard from the beginning.  Beginning comes from the Greek word arche {ar-khay’} (G0746).  It means origin or another good word is Genesis.  Believers are to open their Bibles to Genesis and start reading.  This is how one knows the commandments from the beginning.  From the beginning, mankind was to walk in obedience.  Adam was to walk in obedience and all that followed.  Nothing has changed, it is the same Tanakh (Hebrew Scriptures).

The truth is that no one has been able to walk in proper obedience until Yeshua came along and showed us the way.  That is the example Yeshua left us, 1 John 1:7.

7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Yeshua Messiah his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

We are to walk in the light as Yeshua is the light.  Yeshua followed the law, then we should too.  Or else we are kidding ourselves.
