New Birth

The confession of the Psalmist is Psalm 62:5-7.

5My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

We too should have the same confession.  We are safe in God.  We should declare Him as our strength and refuge.  Or, possibly our confession could be Psalm 121:1-8.

1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  2My help cometh from Yehovah, which made heaven and earth. 3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5Yehovah is thy keeper: Yehovah is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 Yehovah shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8Yehovah shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

These should be our confession in life.  Deep in our heart, this should come out of us all the time.  These should be the very essence of our soul.  We must all realize where our hope is.  We must ask ourselves do we really believe in new birth?  Do we really believe and know that God will heal all our yesterdays in our present time?

Hebrews 12:2

2Looking unto Yeshua the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Do we honestly believe God will finish the work in us? And in others as in Philippians 1:6?

6Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Yeshua Messiah:

Do you honestly believe in the New Birth?  Or are you just hanging on?  Just hoping this thing is true?

Today it seems that most believers are hoping this is all true.  They do not honestly know without a shadow of doubt.  To have unwavering belief, to know without a shadow of doubt is the faith we should all have.  Unfortunately, this is not most believers.  Very few truly understand new birth or even believe in it.  If they did, they would act differently today.  Few understand what new birth does for them and others.  Most are just hanging on and hoping.  Few know with all their heart.

This is essential because new birth, complete faith leads to rest in this lifetime, Hebrews 12:3.

3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

The problem with so many of us is, we faint in our own minds.  We need to be in Him in true faith.  It is God and not us.  It is through His power and His grace.  He is our strength.  It is in new birth that we can do all things in peace.  This is the greatest gift that we have been given.  We are to be the ones to cultivate and nurture it.  It is what gives rest in this lifetime.

God is quite capable of doing it, but one must have biblical faith.
