Sabbatical Year Shadows & Types
Lets go one step further. Instead of counting a 1000 years as a day, each 1000 year period represents 1 year. Remember, the law is a shadow of good things to come and we are studying shadows & types. Could the Sabbatical Year be a shadow of future things to come? Then:
Adam lived during the 1st Year.
Abraham answered the call in Genesis 12, during the 3rd Year.
Solomon’s reign was during the 4th Year.
Yeshua went to the Cross at the beginning of the 5th Year.
And we are about to finish the 6th Year.
Therefore, the Millennium would be the 7th year or the Sabbatical Year.

Remember what happens in the Sabbatical Year, Deuteronomy 15:1-2:
1At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release. 2And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the Yehovah’s release.
And Deuteronomy 15:12.
12And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee.
All debts are forgiven and slaves are released. This only applies to those that are Israelites. If one is a gentile there is no forgiveness of debt and they remain in slavery. So who is an Israelite today? Paul tells us in Romans 9:6.
6Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
There is physical and spiritual Israel. If one is a born again believer, they are part of spiritual Israel. Better yet Ephesians 2:11-13:
11Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12That at that time ye were without Messiah, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13But now in Messiah Yeshua ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Messiah.
Paul refers to the former. Formerly these were gentiles, but they are not today. What would that make them?
Formerly they were without Messiah; however, today they are with Messiah. This means that the next statement is the opposite, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel. If one is in Messiah they are no longer aliens of the commonwealth of Israel, they are a member of the commonwealth. They are an Israelite, possibly a Jew. A spiritual one. This is because they have been made close by the blood of Messiah.
So in spiritual terms, what would be forgiveness of debts and freedom from slavery or bondage? It is forgiveness of sins and freedom from the bondage of the devil. For us, who are believers today, it is complete deliverance from the carnal nature. For a believer, their provision is not coming from the earth in the Millennium. It comes from God.
For non-believers today and the so many that have died before them, the Millennium is the Restitution of All Things, 1 Timothy 2:5-6.
5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Messiah Yeshua; 6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
It is when many will have their due time. In the millennium, if one bows their knee to Yeshua and gives homage, their debts, their sins will be forgiven. They will be freed from slavery, the bondage of the devil. They too, like those saved today, will have everlasting life. They will be freed from the carnal nature. The law is definitely a shadow of the good things to come.
God has been trying to show us that the Sabbatical Year for over 3500 years is the shadow of the future redemption of mankind. This study continues under the title Days of Creation.
