Yeshua Healed on the Sabbath

Yeshua performed miraculous healings on a Sabbath Day, Mark 3:1-2.

1And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. 2And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

Yeshua was in the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and the religious leaders were watching Him, Mark 3:3-4.

3And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.  4And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

Sabbath is a time when we should do good, a time for miracles, Mark 3:5.

5And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

Yeshua healed on the Sabbath, it ought to be our desire to do the same.  Luke 10 records another event, Luke 13:10.

10And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

Yeshua went to the synagogue to teach, it was a Sabbath Day, Luke 13:11-13.

11And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. 12And when Yeshua saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. 13And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

Again, Yeshua heals on a Sabbath Day, the recipient immediately glorified God.

Luke 14:1-4

1And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him. 2And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy. 3And Yeshua answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? 4And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

Again on the Sabbath, in a house, Yeshua takes time to heal.  Yeshua provides us with some insight in Luke 14:5

5And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

We are to do good on the Sabbath.  Healings are to occur, so when we congregate others will see the mighty miracles of God.  Those who are healed will glorify God and find rest.  And, we will all know together that we serve a God who cares and is real.

Again in John 5:5-9:

5And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 6When Yeshua saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. 8Yeshua saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 9And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

Another healing on the Sabbath day, John 9:13-15.

13They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. 14And it was the sabbath day when Yeshua made the clay, and opened his eyes. 15Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight.  He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.

This is the man whom the religious leaders questioned his parents.  He was healed on the Sabbath.

The Gospels record many healings on the Sabbath.  This is not a coincidence.  With so much occurring on the Sabbath Days, it should be noted that no other day is given such prominence in the New Testament.
